COMMUNITY ROOTED PRIORITIES FOR AURORA
An Alderman At-Large helps shape citywide policies, budgets, development decisions, contracts, and long-term planning.
David’s priorities are guided by what he has learned through years of working directly with Aurora residents and organizations.
1. Creating Opportunity for Aurora’s Youth
Young people are affected by city decisions, but their experiences can be missing from citywide conversations. David wants to ensure Aurora’s youth and families are considered as the city plans for its future.
His focus includes advocating for stronger youth programming, employment pathways, mentorship, community partnerships, and better connections between families and existing resources.
2. Connecting Residents With Resources
Aurora has many valuable programs, businesses, nonprofits, and community organizations, but residents do not always know where to find them.
David wants to strengthen communication and partnerships so more people can understand what
resources are available and how to access them. His experience connecting families, organizations, and
community leaders gives him a practical foundation for this work.
3. One Aurora, Working Together
David does not see Aurora as east side versus west side, one neighborhood versus another, or one group against another. He sees one city whose success depends on people being willing to listen, collaborate, and find common ground.
As Alderman At-Large, David will work alongside ward aldermen, city staff, community leaders, and
residents to make thoughtful decisions for the whole city.
4. Prepared, Thoughtful Leadership
City Council decisions affect public funds, development, city services, contracts, and Aurora’s long-term future. David will approach those decisions with preparation, transparency, good judgment, and respect for taxpayer dollars.
He will listen to residents, review the facts, ask difficult questions, and consider how decisions affect the entire city before casting his vote.
5. Visible Before and After the Election
Residents should know how to reach their elected officials and trust that their concerns will be taken
seriously.
David will remain present in neighborhoods, responsive to residents, and connected to the community. Listening does not mean every individual request can be granted. It means people will be treated with respect, given honest information, and represented thoughtfully in city decisions.
